In September this year attended the Association for Learning Technology [ALT] hosted Annual Conference in Manchester which celebrated 25 years of ALT! My first ALT conference, and the fear of being the only librarian at the conference. Was the only librarian in attendance?Absolutely not! A mix of Librarians, Learning Technologists and Academics attended over 140 sessions following the themes:
- Participation through learning technology
- Collaboration for Learning Technology
- Critical perspectives in learning technology
- Openness in Learning Technology
Keynotes were provided by Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom , Amber Thomas , and Maren Deepwell – this may not seem unusual until you realise that it was an all female keynote at a learning technology conference!
Preparation for the conference started way in advance, well preparation for the conference dinner and awards evening! In order to celebrate 25 years of ALT a Spotify playlist was opened up to delegates in order to add music from the year of ALTs creation – 1993!
All keynotes and sessions which took place in the main lecture hall, are available via the Conference Programme.
