Robots and The Diamond

Alison Morton and Angela Greenwood, two of our Library Services Managers, have authored this post. They are currently exploring the application of robots within The Diamond.

The library is investigating the use of interactive robots to help support the Library Information and Advisory Team’s offer to students. Our vision is that robots would be available in library spaces 24/7, to  support library enquiries, link to our online Information and Digital Literacy resources and enable students to interact with library staff via chat and screen sharing.

We are looking at a selection of robots which are currently available and fit in with our remit, temi, for instance, is the first robot that truly interacts with humans while providing flawless autonomous navigation, dynamic video and audio experiences and advanced Artificial Intelligence.

Check out this promotional video of Temi and let us know your thoughts!
